Fibre to the premises means exactly that: the fibre runs all the way into your building, with nothing copper in the chain. Speeds go up to 1Gbps, and because there’s no analogue line underneath, FTTP is completely unaffected by the January 2027 switch off. Choose it if your team works in the cloud all day, you run video calls and VoIP phones, several people share the connection, or you simply want the connection question settled for the next decade. FTTC — the dependable workhorse
Fibre to the cabinet runs fibre to the green box on your street, then copper the last stretch to your door — up to 80Mbps down and 20Mbps up. It’s available almost everywhere, it handles email, card machines, cloud apps and calls comfortably for most small teams, and with us it starts at £28.95 — often less than others charge for ADSL. Broadband is shared. A leased line is yours alone — a private fibre connection running straight into your building, with the same speed up and down, from 100Mbps to 10Gbps, backed by fix-time SLAs rather than “we’ll look into it”. Broadband and the analogue switch off — where you stand
In January 2027 the analogue phone network is switched off, and broadband products that ride on it change too. FTTP and SoGEA are unaffected — ordering either today means the deadline simply isn’t your problem.
